2010 Results!

Betsy and I would once again like to thank everyone for all of the contributions, donations, tents (much needed this year), food, drinks, ice, lights, making beer and pizza runs, etc etc. The help you all provided for this year's tournament is much appreciated. I wish I could take the time to thank you all individually, but it's hard to do during the tounament. It's because of all of you that this year was a HUGE success again! After an hour and a half rain delay (and a real real muddy yard), we ended up with a total of 52 teams in this year's tournament (7 more than last year). Here were the final results:

50/50 raffle
Debra Kelbaugh won the 50/50 and was entitled approximately $350, but Debra was kind enough to donate that money back to Brady's Team and Walk Now for Autism.


Stats
- Total number of donations to Brady's Team prior to the tournament (this includes money raised at the Inaugural Combine for Autism) - $820
- Money raused at the cornhole tournament - $2,381 ($191 more than last year)
- Total funds raised for Brady's Team - $3,201


*This is the most we have raised for any cornhole tournament.

Other Stats
- We went thru 3.67 kegs, 10 pizzas, a LOT of wings, subs, corn dogs, several home made appetizers

- My keg stand was only 12 seconds, although by the time I got to the keg stand, we had already been thru almost 3 kegs.....and an hour and a half rain delay, so needless to say a keg stand wasn't the best idea at that point of the night.

3 days to go!

Hi All,

There are 3 days until the 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament for Autism. Looks like we're gonna have another great turnout this year. At this time, we have over 40 teams who have RSVP'd.

Please try to be there at 3:00pm. We will hope to get started as soon as we can. Last year the tournament took just under 5 hours with 45 teams, so we need to get started as soon as possible.

Looks like there is a chance of showers in the afternoon but the tournament will take place rain or shine......or tornado as we found out 2 years ago.

Food will be arriving around 4:30pm. Here are some details:

- Pizzas from Dewey's Pizza (Eric Kohl)
- Wings & appetizers from Roosters (Bobbi Weber)
- Other appetizers

We plan on having 3 kegs of Bud / Miller Lite (one being donated by Brian Byrne / Byrne's Pub). Please feel free to bring your own if you prefer a beer other than those being provided.

As usual, there will also be a 50/50 raffle. The winners will receive a trophy & their names will get placed among royalty (me) on next year's koozies.

We also have some great prizes that have been donated. Some will go to the winners, while others will be raffled off. here are some examples:

- A Mini PC (donated by Ben Buchwalter)
- A GPS (donated by Nat Long / GogoTech)
- A new DROID phone (donated by Mallorie Hardesty / Flexicom)
- Gift cards from Victoria Secret & CO Bigelow, Candle Lab (Brian & Trisha Jensen)

Over 30 teams have RSVP'd. We are trying to at least match last year's total of 45 teams. Thanks for all your support!

We now have 23 teams that have RSVP'd for the tournament. There are 16 days left until the tournament. I know I have heard from at least 10 other teams who say they plan on attending but have yet to RSVP. Please RSVP. Just click the link to the right of this blog. We need to know how much food and beer to get and we would like to start planning the brackets earlier so the tournament can run smoothly.

2010 Tournament Date is Set!

The 6th Annual Cornhole Tournament for Autism will take place Saturday, August 21, 2010. The time is yet to be determined. Please save the date! We had 45 teams in 2009 and hope to have more this year.
